Gary Whitby - Candidate StatementBy Gary Whitby Candidate for National Divisional Delegate from Branch to National Council, WA Rail Operations DivisionHello, I am Gary Whitby, a Terminal Operator with Pacific National Rail in Perth, and I seek your support for the position of National Divisional Delegate from the Branch to the National Council WA Branch/ Rail Operations Division, on behalf of Rail Operations employees in West Australia. The experience I gained in being part of a working party to negotiate EBA 4 on behalf of all the now defunct National Rail Corporation, gave me a significant insight into the cut and thrust of trying to negotiate a fair deal for all rail workers. The new company which is part owned by Chris Corrigan, (of whom all Union workers would have heard !!!!!) is soon to enter negotiations with the RTBU on an agreement for all its rail arm workers, and I believe the RTBU will do its utmost to gain an advantage for all Pacific National rail workers. However, complacency is what multi-nationals prey on to divide their workers, and delegates need to look at other areas, where rail workers need our help and support for better wages and conditions. I want to be part of this and therefore, again I seek your support. So on your ballot paper vote: WHITBY, Gary |
