Intermodal - Terminals Negotiation Update

The RTBU and Pacific National met on Tuesday 29th August for brief preliminary discussions regarding the Intermodal - Terminals Enterprise Agreement negotiations. As with meetings with other Business Divisions, this meeting was an opportunity for the parties to put their respective issues on the table and to plan for future meetings.

At the meeting, the parties reconfirmed their commitments to concluding the negotiations within the agreed timeframe of September 30, when the national delegates will reconvene in a meeting with the company in Sydney.

As with previous meetings with other Business Divisions, both parties spent some time outlining their respective views on a number of issues. No agreement has been reached regarding the respective positions of the RTBU or Pacific National. The intention of the meeting was simply to identify the issues. The discussions between the parties were productive and positive. Future meetings, where negotiations will actually commence, with the Intermodal - Terminals Business Division will include RTBU Delegate representation.

Future Meeting dates between the RTBU and Pacific National's Intermodal - Terminals negotiating team have been arranged for the 11th & 12th of September with a further two dates set aside, 19th & 20th September, should they be required.
